Program Overview

The Advocacy and Awareness Program is at the heart of CADAC’s mission to promote equity, and inclusion for childhood cancer survivors living with disabilities. The program seeks to influence policy, educate communities, and build national awareness about the challenges faced by cancer survivors with disabilities, challenges that are often un-noticed but are deeply life-limiting.

Through advocacy, CADAC amplifies the voices of survivors, engages government institutions, health organizations, and civil society, and drives systemic change toward inclusive healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.

Program Objectives

Bringing quality healthcare to everyone, regardless of background, by providing accessible, compassionate, and comprehensive medical services for all individual.

• Policy Advocacy: Influence government and institutional policies to ensure disability-inclusive cancer care, education access, and social protection.
• Awareness Creation: Raise public understanding of cancer-related disabilities, early detection, and survivorship.
• Rights Promotion: Promote the rights of childhood cancer survivors as enshrined in national and international frameworks such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build alliances with policymakers, NGOs, hospitals, schools, and the media to create sustainable impact.
• Empowerment Through Voice: Equip survivors to become advocates for their own rights through leadership and storytelling training.

Our programs aim to address housing instability by offering emergency, transitional, and permanent housing options, coupled with essential resources like financial counseling, job training, and community engagement. By empowering people with the stability of a safe home, we foster a foundation for improved well-being, personal growth, and hope for a brighter future.
