Empowering Childhood Cancer Survivors, Living with Disabilities

Founded by Dr. Anne Merriman (MHSRIP), a global pioneer in palliative care and humanitarian service, CADAC was established to respond to a silent yet urgent reality: childhood cancer survivors often live with lifelong disabilities caused by both the disease and its treatment.

Through education, vocational training, advocacy, and psychosocial support, we walk alongside survivors and their families, empowering them to thrive in schools, workplaces, and communities

CADAC was born out of compassion, resilience, and an unwavering belief that life after cancer is worth living to the fullest.

WHAT WE DO

Our Focus Areas

Create Awareness

We believe that surviving cancer is only the beginning of the story.

Vocational Training

For survivors, vocational training offers a practical and empowering path

Educational Support

Long hospital stays and treatment-related issues frequently interrupt the schooling of childhood cancer survivors

Our Focus Areas

Education

CADAC steps in to bridge this gap by supporting survivors enrolled in government primary and secondary schools under UPE (Universal Primary Education) and USE (Universal Secondary Education)

Vocational Training

CADAC leverages Uganda’s Presidential Initiative for Skilling Boys and Girls by facilitating access, covering logistical costs, and offering psychosocial and financial support to survivors

Cancer Related Disabilities Awareness

Beyond awareness, we walk with survivors and their families, offering education support, vocational training, and psychosocial care that restores dignity and re-integration into the community.

Childhood Cancer Awareness

Hi everyone, it’s been almost a year since CADAC started. As a survivor I appreciate the effort that CADAC has been putting in to make sure each of us learn some skills that will eventually help us as a source of income. I have noticed there are more survivors that have joined us. I also thank you for helping me with writing my book especially Dr Anne and Martin Noble. I can tell that CADAC will be successful helping more survivors. I pray that many people will support it.
